UKE (Used Kitchen Exchange), which has enjoyed significant public attention and commercial success since its inception, is now undertaking total business transformation to become a household name. Recently accredited with The Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development as well as BCorp Certification, it is disrupting the on-line home interiors sector by championing luxury re-commerce.

Its multi award winning online platform covering the whole of the UK specialises in the sale of pre-owned designer/ luxury and ex-display kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture with their offices based in the North-West of England.

To support their transformation, they now seek an ambitious Social Media Marketing Executive to join their team and to help drive the company forward through this next period of growth.

The role…

Our ideal candidate will be a creative and commercially minded social media/marketing wizard who is looking for a career defining role within an inspiring, feel-good sector.

Working closely with the Marketing Director and Sales Manager, you will be responsible for producing engaging content for the business’ social platforms, as well as blog writing and other marketing activities. In addition, you will be responsible for the community management of their social following and home interiors/renovation influencer engagement across all platforms in order to drive awareness and sales.

Responsibilities…

  • Plan, create, schedule and manage engaging media content, including video/reels, on the business’ social media platforms (Instagram is priority, but they also use Facebook, Linkedin, Pinterest, TikTok and YouTube).
  • Social Media community management
  • Identify, engage and conduct fact finding interviews with UKE customers to create optimised customer before and after blogs, including gaining imagery to create impact.
  • Identify and build relationships with in-market influencers
  • Collaboration with the UKE’s sales team to ensure social schedule is in line with product inventory and sales strategy.
  • Supporting Marketing Director and PR Agency with external marketing initiatives such as Exhibitions (Grand Designs/Ideal Home etc) and larger customer projects for publication in the interiors press. 

Candidate Requirements…

  • Proven experience within a social media role, with an emphasis on Instagram, preferably within an on-line retail environment
  • Creative mindset with a proven track record of producing engaging content
  • Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills with evidence of writing content for optimised blogs and social content
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work autonomously and in a team.
  • A basic understanding of PPC and SEO optimisation would be advantageous
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • A desire to work within the home interiors sector.
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Degree level education would be preferred
