SC Cleared Desktop Engineer – Contract

• 6-months with the potential to be extended
• £220 day rate
• Glasgow – On-site
• OUTSIDE IR35
• 4 positions available
• Each candidate must be SC cleared PRIOR to applying.

Due to the nature of our roles, candidates must be a UK Resident with unrestricted rights to work in the UK, and within commutable distance to Glasgow. Please note we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnosing and repairing hardware issues for PCs, laptops, servers, and network equipment.
• Replacing faulty hardware components such as hard drives, memory, motherboards, and power supplies.
• Installing, configuring, and updating software applications and operating systems.
• Regular maintenance checks to ensure systems are functioning optimally.
• Managing backups and restoring data as required to prevent data loss.
• Configuring and troubleshooting network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi, LAN, and WAN setups.
• Providing technical support and guidance to users on how to resolve various IT-related issues.
• Documenting all repairs, replacements, and maintenance activities for future reference.
• Ensuring compliance with IT security policies and practices, including installing and updating antivirus software.
• Collaborating with IT support teams for complex issues requiring escalated support.

Requirements:

• SC Clearance PRIOR to time of application is essential.
• Experience troubleshooting & resolving hardware, software, networking, and data related issues.
• Solid communication skills with the ability to support users through technical queries.
• Excellent understanding of IT security policies and best practices.
