Production & Performance Manager

We’re searching for a Production & Performance Manager with FMCG manufacturing experience within the food & beverage production sector to join a global manufacturer based in Harrogate. You will have a passion for driving cultural and operational excellence, will lead on exciting projects and be provided with excellent development and progression opportunities.

Key Benefits:

  • Up to £65,000 pa, Dependent on Experience

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an integral role to the leadership and strategic direction of the business; reporting to the Operations Director, you will operate within the Production Leadership Team acting as the driving force behind continuous improvement initiatives, performance optimisation, and developing a culture of excellence. This position provides the opportunity to engage with the wider group across various projects and comes with excellent opportunities for personal development.

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Leading the production department to ensure safety, efficiency, quality, and performance.
  • Developing long-term plans to deliver the strategic business needs.
  • Optimising production capability and minimise downtime through proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Driving the learning agenda and capability planning for all production managers.
  • Engaging in regular reporting of data and information to the wider group.

Functional Leadership:

  • Leading a cross-functional team with accountability for business outputs.
  • Championing continuous improvement initiatives, implementing internal systems and principles.
  • Leading on people development, creating a learning pathway to enhance performance and agility.

People & Teams:

  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and performance aligned with strategic targets.
  • Developing resource planning and forecasting for skill needs, compliance, and development requirements.
  • Coaching, supporting and upskilling team members.

Performance:

  • Delivery of SQCDME KPIs and upholding EHS & Quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Director to build and execute the strategic plan for production.
  • Manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets, leading digital transformation initiatives and RCA processes.

THE CANDIDATE

We are looking for a strong and authentic leader with prior experience in a production management role and an engineering background. You will be adept at developing, supporting, and mentoring a team, creating strategies to drive operational efficiency and comfortable reporting at board-level.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • FMCG manufacturing experience is essential, food & beverage manufacturing experience would be highly desired.
  • Expertise in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Data analysis, budget development, and resource planning.
  • Strong reporting skills; comfortable relaying data and information to wider group and board.
  • Knowledge of key manufacturing processes and techniques (DMAIC, 5S, PDCA, TPM).
  • Experience with strategic maintenance and autonomous maintenance.
  • Familiarity with change management principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to engage and inspire teams, leading by example.
