Our client is a well-established and highly respected Yorkshire-based charted accountancy practice. They are an innovative and dynamic firm who work with a diverse range of clients across a variety of sectors. Providing exceptional support from statutory audits through to full accountancy and tax services, including payroll, wealth management, growth and advisory services, this firm has gone from strength to strength and established a strong reputation and excellent relationships with clients. As such, we have now been tasked with searching for a Bookkeeper to join their growing team.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper or accounts clerk who is looking to take on a new challenge in their career. In this role, you will take over a portfolio of business accounts and will be responsible for establishing excellent relationships, whilst undertaking all bookkeeping responsibilities. You will help companies understand their financial situations and manage their cash flow, ensuring all records and transactions are accurate and up to date, whilst providing advice and recommendations where possible. You will also be part of the firm’s Cloud Team which look at new products and apps in bookkeeping and advise clients on their use and implementation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and processing payments, invoices, income, purchases, and receipts for your client base.
- Maintaining complete and accurate financial records.
- Reconciling bank statements and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
- Preparing financial statements and reports, including cash flow, profit & loss, and balance sheets.
- Completing VAT returns.
- Ensuring all financial data and information is accurately recorded on relevant software or CRM.
THE CANDIDATE
We would love to speak to candidates who can display the following:
- Previous bookkeeping experience is required, preferably 2 years’ experience.
- Demonstrable experience and competence in bookkeeping and accounts.
- Professional qualification in bookkeeping or accounting, such as AAT, would be desirable but not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record keeping.
- Solid understanding of accounting regulations and familiarity with relevant tax laws.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with stakeholders of all levels.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships at all levels.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple account simultaneously.
