Julian's Role

Since qualifying for my REC Level 3 Certificate in Recruitment Practice, I have been responsible for placing candidates in a role that suits them and the company. My role includes developing professional relationships with my clients to ensure that a detailed and thorough search is completed to find the suitable candidates for the roles they have to offer.

Working alongside my team at Marmion, I am required to research and understand the variety of client industries we work across, ensuring that I have a full understanding of the roles that our client is looking to fill within their company. I also ensure that both parties (both clients and candidates) are updated and informed at every step of the recruitment process.

Prior to Marmion

Before I started my role for Marmion, I completed my undergraduate degree in Sport Development at Leeds Beckett University. Alongside completing my degree, I also worked as a Sports Coach within schools, where I was first introduced to the recruitment sector.

I was promoted to Head of Recruitment within the company and had my first taste of what it is like to build relationships with candidates and guide them through the process of finding a role that would suit them. After my role at the coaching company came to an end, I moved onto a door-to-door sales role. In this role, I developed several skills including the ability to talk confidently to customers and how to face rejection, which can be a relatively hard skill to master. I then looked for work in recruitment and found Marmion, where I felt comfortable and can see myself excelling and developing my career.

What Julian Williams brings to the team

I would like to say that I bring a great amount of teamwork to Marmion, with regards the rest of the team and the clients and candidates I work with. Captaining football teams from such a young age has taught me to work hard for your team and share the achievements you achieve together.

I feel that this is a great skill for recruitment, as I know that I will work as hard as I can to ensure that candidates are placed in suitable roles. I also understand the responsibility that I take on to achieve tasks and will always ensure that I research and understand the industry and the role that my client wants to fill to make sure we find the perfect candidate for their company.

Working at Marmion

I was over the moon when I received a job offer from Janet, as the company is going through such an exciting time of growth and success! My Marmion teammates offer so much support to me on my journey as a Recruitment Consultant and have already given me confidence to take on the world of recruitment.

I couldn’t have asked for more from Marmion in my first steps as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant and I’m excited to grow with the company.

They have been a pleasure to work with!
