OUR CLIENT

Our client is an established and award-winning provider of Managed IT Solutions and Services. They are an experienced team of consultants who provide/manage technical and strategic IT support to a variety of businesses and organisations across the UK. Their service covers conventional network, software and hardware support and this company is one of only 150 selected Microsoft Gold Partners in the UK. Due to their continued success and recent new contracts, we are now searching for a Senior IT Technician to join this growing team.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are searching for an experienced and customer focused Technical Consultant, ideally with previous experience in a 3rd line support role, to join our clients growing technical team. Our ideal candidate will be committed to their own personal development and will show a natural aptitude to providing exceptional levels of support when dealing with complex 3rd level technical issues.

In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of IT technical service projects, including the support of desktops, servers and networks to a range of established clients. You will implement a range of IT solutions and perform problem isolation and resolutions for end users across Windows desktop environments, Apple Mac technologies, LAN-WAN infrastructures and telephony technologies, among others. You will be someone who is passionate about technology and ideally you will have achieved an MCSE Server qualification as a minimum and will be motivated to continue your own learning as your career develops.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working autonomously and dealing with complex 3rdlevel technical issues.
  • Working in an advisory capacity to the Account Management Team and ensuring you are up to date with technological changes within the industry.
  • Dealing with projects of varying sizes and complexity, including Server and Domain configurations, Network installations, 365 and Azure migrations.
  • The ability to fit technical solutions into a client’s business requirements, potential hardware, software upgrades and removal of outdated solutions.
  • Working with and mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Management of a ‘pod’ of client sites (circa 20-25) and reporting directly to the Head of Technical.

 

KEY SKILLS

  • 5+ years’ demonstrable experience providing technical customer support/implementations.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard applicable computing disciplines including Change, Configuration, Problem, Performance and Operational Management.
  • Any Cyber Security knowledge is beneficial.
  • You will have an MCSA certification as a minimum, however ideally you will be MCSE certified or working towards this certification.
  • Solid expertise troubleshooting Office 365, Windows 10 and other systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A computing/technical degree would be desirable.
  • Motivated and self-driven, with the ability to prioritise own workload, and to multitask effectively.
  • Strong levels of written and verbal communication.
  • A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle – you will be expected after a time to attend client sites.
